About My Work
Whether it’s through vibrant strokes of Prismacolor or the bright pops of ink in a print, my artwork continues to explore themes of femininity, humor, and the eccentric. I was raised by my mom, a single mother, and this has caused me always to feel connected to a strong feminine presence in my life. I am always drawn to depicting the female body and finding new ways to illustrate the power of female sexuality. As someone who was often told by others, or specifically men, that I was intimidating or “too much”, I, now as an artist, take that as a personal challenge in my art. Whether it’s the strong female roles I often portray on stage, or the work I illustrate, I demand to carve a space for the bold “too much” women.
